14 persons including 4 Policemen injured in Rajouri | KNO

RAJOURI (KNO) : DC Rajouri Shahid Iqbal Choudhary who was talking to Protesters at Patel chowk was injured after a bottle hit his head. Some youth were constantly pelting stones. The bottle hit the helmet of the officer which he was wearing. The leaders of agitation expressed regret over such stone pelting.

A total of 14 persons including 4 Policemen have sustained minor injuries.Now talks are on between Joint Action Committee and District Adm lead DC, SSP, ADC .Sources said that the protesters pelted the police with stones who retaliated with tear gas, triggering further clashes.Police on Saturday resorted to tear gas shelling and cane charged protesters who pelted them with stones during a protest in Nowshera area of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Reports said that a scuffle ensued after police prevented a rally of locals heading towards the revenue complex in Nowshera to protest the yesterday’s order in which sub-divisional magistrate posts of Nowshera, Kalakote and Sunderbani were upgraded to additional deputy commissioners.They said that the protesters pelted the police with stones who retaliated with tear gas, triggering further clashes.(KNO)
